Wheel Chair Tennis
Wheel Chair Tennis is for people in nursing homes—in chairs or standing. Linda Denis has successfully run programs in New York City and Florida using her technique that engages the residents while they learn the basic strokes of tennis.
We come to your facility and work in a space of 30 x 50 feet or larger indoors or outdoors. Tennis court or no court. We set up free-standing nets, use lightweight rackets and good density foam balls. While in wheel chairs residents will exercise with drills that help increase flexibility and strengthening. Clients will learn forehands, volleys and practice overhead smashes with the help of fun teaching aides, i.e., balloons, foam balls. Residents will also play competitive and non-competitive games with both tennis scoring and regular scoring. Classes are 60 minutes. There are 6–8 people on the court. All equipment supplied by Linda Denis
Tennis for Seniors at Assisted Living Facilities
For adults who want to learn the basic strokes of tennis and beyond. Play with us—have fun, exercise and develop your skills. We will rally, drill, play competitive games and hit for accuracy. Classes are for beginners and up, people who are returning to the sport or for those who have never left. Group lessons have 4 to six people on the court. We can play on a tennis court or in large room, carpeted or tiled. Space is 30 x 50 feet or larger. Indoors in this type of setting we use good density foam balls.
